HOW DO I GET STARTED?
WELCOME! Check our schedule to find a class and click “sign up.” From there, you will create an account to purchase your ride. New riders should arrive at the studio 15 minutes prior to class start time to ensure a seamless sign-in and correct bike setup.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Cycling shoes with SPD cleats can minimize foot and leg discomfort. Allow you utilize the full revolution of your pedal stroke and engage more of your muscles. Which translates to a more effective workout. Hard soled sneakers can also be worn.
Cycling shorts or a gel seat can minimize saddle discomfort.
Tops made of moisture wicking material or performance fabric.
Avoid flared pants that could get caught in the crank.
Avoid heavy cotton shirts and sweatshirts. They keep heat in rather than dispersing it.
I’M NEW. I’M SCARED. WHAT IF I CAN’T DO EVERYTHING?
Our classes are for all levels. You are in control of your bike and workout. If you need to take it easier on a ride or make it more challenging, it’s based on the physical exertion you want put forth. If you need a hug, just ask. Hugs are awesome!
We have a two (2) hour cancellation policy prior to the class start time. Prepaid rides will be deducted from your account if you no show or cancel outside the two (2) hour cancellation window.
We have nineteen (19) bikes available to book for each class. Once those are full, we have three (3) spots available on our waitlist, so be sure to sign up if you want a class. If a rider cancels, you will be notified that you are now registered for the class.
All riders are required to sign a waiver in the studio prior to your first class. Riders who are 14-17 years old must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
If you booked your bike online prior to class, your name will be on our sign-in sheet. Please check in upon arrival. We start on time. Please allow a few extra minutes to adjust your bike prior to the scheduled start time. Unclaimed bikes will be released five (5) minutes prior to class.
Arrive early. Knowing your mount contributes to a great ride. Come 10 minutes early to adjust your saddle and handle bar. We respect your busy schedule and our rides start on time. First time riders are encouraged to arrive 15-20 minutes early to settle in and give our staff a few minutes to show you the ins and outs of the ride. Because of safety concerns, new riders may not be admitted to class if they arrive late. All classes start on time, so make sure you’re on the bike before the lights go down.
SHOULD I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
A light snack is recommended 30-60 minutes or so before class. Simple carbohydrates (about 100 calories) help to maintain energy level for the duration of your ride.
HYDRATE – YOU WILL SWEAT ON THIS RIDE!
Hydration, particularly during the colder months is imperative for a safe and ride. We recommended that you drink water at least 2 hours prior to your ride. For early morning riders, try to drink an 8 oz. glass of water as soon as you get up and continue sipping water right up until the start of class. Continue to hydrate during and after the ride. Always best to drink plenty of water prior to, during and after each class. There is a place for a water bottle on the bike. Forgot your water? We sell bottled water for $1.00.
BIKE SET UP
Our STAGES SC3 CARBONGLYDE bikes deliver a natural road feel. Simple adjustments can be made to protect you from unnecessary stress on your knees, back and shoulders. For safety and effectiveness, it’s important that a trained member of our staff assists you in setting up your bike the first time.
HOUSEKEEPING AND HYGENE?
Bring a towel. You WILL Sweat. Your shoes must be clean and dry. Put it back if you moved it, pick it up if you dropped it, and wipe it up if someone else might step in it. We thank you in advance!
CELL PHONES, IPODS AND OTHER GIZMOS
We get it. It’s the world we live in. Can’t fight it so embrace it. That said, please keep in mind your instructor has choreographed a specific plan for your ride. If you absolutely have to have it, please keep it on vibrate.
We know that every so often, someone may have to leave before the class ends. Not a problem. We’d appreciate it if you’d let the instructor know ahead of time, and make sure to wipe your bike down before you head out. Please try and reserve a bike closer to the door for a quick, less disruptive exit.
CAN I TAKE A CLASS IF I’M PREGNANT?
If you have been physically active and exercising prior to pregnancy and are cleared by your doctor to continue, then indoor cycling is a great workout to stay in cardiovascular shape throughout pregnancy. Remember to listen to your body and make modifications as needed.
DO YOU PROVIDE CHILDCARE IN THE STUDIO?
We do not provide childcare. We do not have space for children to sit or play.
